Added antivirus scan information and handling

An icon now indicates the antivirus scan information for each of your files. Additionally, we've added dialogues for opening files that are being processed by the antivirus scan, or were caught as infected.

You can now perform quick biometric reauthentication when your session expires, allowing you to stay on the current screen and resume activities without interruption.

Introduced Dark Mode

Here comes the much-awaited Dark Mode feature, designed to enhance your user experience. With Dark Mode, you can now enjoy a visually appealing and comfortable app interface, especially in low-light environments.

Dark Mode not only reduces eye strain but also conserves battery life on OLED displays. By reducing the emission of bright light, this feature allows for extended app usage with minimal impact on battery consumption.

Dark mode will be available in Android version 10 and above.

Added Sidebar

We restructured existing actions to make our app more extendable and user friendly. Now you will find Activities, Settings and Sign out actions inside of a new sidebar.

Added Offline availability options to the 3-dot menu for files and notes

You can now quickly access the options to make files and notes available offline or remove them from offline availability via the 3-dot menu. To access this menu, press on 3-dots next to the corresponding item.

Enabled opening file links within the app

Tapping on idgard links for files, folders, or notes on your phone in any application, will now directly open the linked item within the secure environment of your idgard Android app. This also ensures that your data remains encrypted at all times.

Added Select all feature

A new Select all button enables you to select all items on a screen, such as Boxes, files, or members, in one go.

Added share link feature

You are now able to share links to files, folders, and notes from idgard with other people via 3rd party apps. This feature also allows you to copy such links.

Keep in mind, that such links can only be accessed directly by Box members, who already have an access to the Box containing that file. For other users or guests, the link will lead to the idgard login page.

Made action menu easily available

There now is a 3-dots icon next to each Box, file, folder, and note. Tap this icon to access available options for that specific item quicker than before.

Added a warning when opening an office file with a 3rd party app

You are now notified before a file is leaving the secure idgard environment to be opened with a 3rd party app. Based on this information, you can decide whether you still want to open the file or not.

Added file size indicator and new sorting options

You are now able to see size of every file in your boxes. Along with this, you are also able to sort your box content by size and type.

Improved share extension error handling

You are now better informed about your login status when trying to upload files from other apps using our share extension. If you are logged in in offline mode, you will be explicitly notified about that.

Added option in settings tab to choose which notifications to receive

You are now able to navigate to app notification settings from our settings tab and enable or disable certain notification based on your needs.

Improved user permission management screen

Each individual permission now comes with a brief explanatory helper text.

Enabled sharing files from 3rd-party apps to idgard

Tap the Share icon for a file in a 3rd-party app, select the idgard icon, navigate to the desired Box location, and securely save the file in your idgard.

Added the option to manage Box members

As a Box Owner or Box Manager you can now add and remove members from your Boxes and manage their permissions.

Adds compatibility with Android 13

Activated Backups as default at Box creation

The previous 1.6.0 release added the Box creation feature but did not have Backups activated by default as in idgard Web. We've now set the default value for Box backups to activated.

Added option to activate or deactivate Box Backups

Also, Box Owners and Managers can now review or change the Backup activation via Box settings. If you created a Box with version 1.6.0 and need Backup to be activated, please use this feature to switch it on via this app or idgard Web.

Added Edit Box option

You can now edit existing Boxes and change the Box type, update General Settings, Default Permissions, and more.

Extended second factor authentication

Depending on the second factor authentication method that is configured for your account (if any), the user interface will guide you through the corresponding process.

With idgard web version 1.7 and later, you'll also be able to use the Time-based One-time Password (TOTP) as a second factor authentication method with this app version. TOTP codes are generated by your authenticator app.

Harmonized user interface colors

We've harmonized colors across all design elements in our app for a fresh and clean look and feel.

You can use this app to create new Boxes and Data Rooms and configure access settings and permissions for them. Box creation now comes with a completely reworked and fresh user experience.

Removed certificate verification option

Certificate pinning was removed from idgard and, therefore, the verification option was also removed from the app.

Updated login screen

The app version information is now available from the login screen.

To make access to additional content on scrollable screens more intuitive, the scrollbar is now always visible on such screens.

Added Favorites feature

You can now directly access your files and notes from the Favorites tab in the main menu. To add a file or note to your Favorites, long-press, and select the corresponding dialog option.

Favorites are available when remote encryption or offline storage mode are activated.

Added sound and vibration notifications

You can now activate sound and vibrations for notifications from the Settings tab in your app.

Added visual indicators for read and unread files,folders, and chat messages

These indicators now notify you of the number of unread files in your folders and Boxes as well as of unread chat messages. Via the context menu, you can manually switch the state from unread to read, or vice versa.

Implemented performance improvements

Scrolling through file lists, chats, journal items, etc. is now faster and smoother.

Enhanced PDF in-app viewer

You can now open and view PDFs directly within the protected environment of your idgard app.

Synchronizing your data with idgard and making data available offline in your mobile app is now much faster.

Added option to mark Box for offline availability

You can now make your selected Boxes available for offline access in the idgard app on your mobile device. If PDF annotations are activated for your account, you can make annotations in offline mode and synchronize your changes online later.

Remove Box from offline availability

If you no longer need a Box available offline, you can now remove local content for that Box from your app.

Included offline data in synchronization process

Click the Sync button in the navigation bar of the Box overview screen to synchronize offline content in your idgard account. Your device and the server will be up-to-date with any changes made.
